Before going into more details about membership, we must clear one thing up: we're a clan neutral territory. That is, members of the Valley of the Jedi aren't required to wear their tags and ranks, they're not expected to maintain a certain amount of activity/week, and they're free to join any other clans if they feel like doing so. Our goal is to help you have more fun, not less by putting limitations on your playing options.
Now with that out of the picture, let's see how the system works:
Ranking up - AKA L34rn2j3d!
By registering on the forums, you automatically gain the <I> Initiate status, which allows you to sign up for events, classes, or personal training sessions. Even as an Initiate, you can experience lots of fun as you will have access to almost everything we're offering.
For those that wish to walk the true path of the jedi, we provide additional opportunities and challanges. If you would like to deepen your knowledge about ingame mechanics or if you're interested in teaching, you can set your foot on the way to become a Jedi Master.
Promotions
To rank up, you must learn the basics in dueling, movement, guns, and the Force; gradually develop and eventually reach an advanced level in at least one of your choice. At every rank, you will need to face certain challenges. Some will be easy and some will be more difficult, but you need to pass them all if you wish to progress. Don't worry, however:
The challenges are designed to be fun and to help you feel confident in your skills. To prepare with success, you can either choose to become a Padawan to a Jedi Knight or a Jedi Master, or you can learn from various people and/or by visiting classes. If you like getting personal advice on what to work on, don't be shy and ask for a master of your liking (HERE), as they can provide you with useful information on how to improve, how to deal with trials and so on...
Initiate
The key elements you should focus on as an initiate are activity, learning the basics (dueling, movement), and showing interest in getting better. Familiarize yourself with the movement map (Downloads) and make sure you ask JK+ (Jedi Knight or above) if they have any advice for you on how to progress.
Jedi
Focusing on the 'key elements', you may get selected to become a Jedi. Being the first step on a longer path, it is a rank for those who actively play the game, and want to become good duelists, looking for opportunities to learn and improve.
Jedi Knight
After completing your Jedi Knight Trials, you will be granted the opportunity to take Padawans, and assist in classes, and trials. As rewarding as passing your trials may be, your journey here is not necessarily over. You are of course encouraged to deepen your knowledge even more so that you can become a Jedi Master.
Jedi Master
Knights can be nominated for further progress by the leadership and other Masters. If you're interested in teaching more than just one person at a time and you have an everlasting passion to learn more and more about the game, this final rank will grant you the option to do just that. As a Jedi Master, you're permitted to hold classes and lead Knight Trials.
Staff
A status that exists outside the framework of skill-based progressing and revolves around helping the leadership in various matters such as adminning, leading events, maintaining the website, mapping, handling the archive etc.
