There are two ways to get selected for taking your trials:
#1 if you are a Jedi and you don't have a master,
you have the chance to apply directly by contacting a JK+ ingame, sending a message on the forums, or sending a mail to thevalleyofthejedi@gmail.com; Subject: Application for Jedi Knight. In the mail you will also have to include your ingame name.
#2 if you are a Padawan (you have a master who actively plays the game),
you can either ask your Master to nominate you for the trials, or wait until they do so when they judge the time is right.
In either case, your application will be examined by the Council and then forwarded to the forums where both Knights and Masters can discuss whether you should be granted the chance to take the trials. An application must be nominated by at least two JK+ (knight or above) for the trials to take place. Once succeeded, a Master will take the lead and you will get further instructions on the forums about how to proceed.
What do the trials entail?
The Jedi Knight Trials are a series of complex exams you will have to pass as they will test your fighting skills, mental strength, personality, and creativity in equal measure. The purpose of the trials is to give a unique feeling to the game and provide enjoyable challenges for players who have a more serious approach to playing, but it is also to ensure that members who wish to pass on their knowledge actually know what they are doing.
Since we aim to preserve the unique feeling and atmosphere that surrounds the trials, that also means we have to be secretive about what they include exactly and reveal the details only to those who are actually taking them.
We understand that not sharing much info about the trials may lead to uncertainty as to how you should prepare. Don't worry, however, if you're active on the servers and participate in training sessions and classes, you will learn everything you need to know to successfully pass your trials!
